Admission Requirements

As the Ministerial College has been established specifically to train men for the ministry, it is not open to those who simply desire to acquire general theological knowledge. Rather, the prospective student must be one who “desires the office of an overseer” (1Tim 3:1), and has the support and approval of his local church being under the mentoring care of a man actively engaged in the pastoral ministry. Exceptions to these general guidelines for those already engaged in the pastoral ministry will be considered on a case by case basis by the board of the college.

The following are the admission requirements:

  • Students must be in substantial agreement with the 1689 Baptist confession of Faith
  • Student must be under the oversight of a Reformed Baptist pastor. If they themselves are a pastor, they must have another pastor to whom they are accountable for their course work.
  • Students must have given some evidence of potential usefulness for the gospel ministry.
  • Students must be involved in an active apprenticeship with the pastor of their local church and meeting with him regularly.
  • Student must be engaged in Theological studies under the oversight of their pastor on continual basis. This will include assigned reading and completing writing assignments.
  • Students must be given opportunities at the discretion of the pastors to exercise and develop their gifts in relation to preaching, teaching and counseling.
